My Woodworking Plans And Projects
“Who Else Wants 14000 Quality Woodworking Plans
that are detailed and easy to follow, with
FREE expert advice to make
every project a success?”
Hello and welcome to my website,
My name is Steve Barker and I have been making all sorts of things since I was a young lad. When I first started my woodworking projects if I wanted a plan, either I had to draw my own or get them from books, magazines or by mail order. There was no internet so I didn’t have easy access to good woodworking plans and projects. And of course I had to buy plans one at a time and they were expensive.
So what’s my site about, well my friend John Metz has put together the ultimate collection of woodworking plans and projects, in fact over 14,000 of them so I want to show you that they really are value for money.
John has solved the easy access issue, his plans are available online and can be downloaded in a matter of minutes.
Choice of Woodworking Plans and Projects
“Is there a plan to suit what I want to build?” good question, well with over 14000 plans and projects, you have often have not one plan but a choice of plans for whatever you want to build. If you wanted some ideas of what to build, where to start, especially if you are a beginner then this collection of plans is for you.
“How difficult are the plans to follow?” well the plans vary depending on the project and there are plans for different experience levels, generally the plans are easy to follow. I’m in the process of improving my site and will be showing you examples of different types of plans which you will be able to see by clicking on one of the links on the right. Just bear with me if the page is still being worked on, we’ll get them finished as soon as we can.
“Are the plans value for money?”, in my opinion I don’t think you can get a better deal than the one John is offering, in many instances you could pay more for a single plan than John charges for his entire collection. John has some great bonuses which themselves are worth more than the cost of the woodworking plans.
“Can I try the woodworking plans?” Absolutely, John is so confident you will just love what he is offering that he has a 60 day no questions asked 100% money back guarantee. Even if you have downloaded plans and for any reason want your money back you’ll get it.
I use the plans myself
I wanted to make a rocking horse for my youngest grandson so I picked one of the rocking horse plans in the collection and within a few days I had built not one but two rocking horses, you can check out my build just visit the page Rocking Horse Plans – Build
I love working with wood even though I may not be the world’s greatest carpenter I still manage to make things that I and my family use on a regular basis.
Woodworking Plans – Getting it Right
Whatever woodworking plan or project you are working on the best tip I can give you is “measure twice, cut once” and always mark the scrap side so you make your cuts on the correct side of your lines. A good plan can help you get the most out of your raw materials and minimise your scrap pile.
Read through the entire plan before you buy any materials, make sure you understand the plan.
You can substitute different types of wood to those in any plan as long as the strength is equivalent.
Hardwoods are usually more expensive to buy than softwoods but can give you a quality finish. Checkout my article on Wood types. Softwoods generally are easier to work with and can also be stained to give the finish you want.
Most woodworking projects can be completed with a basic set of woodwork tools, some tools make it easier or quicker such as power saws, routers and sanders but woodworking is not a pastime to be rushed. Don’t set yourself false deadlines and then rush to get a project finished. Take your time, if you do something wrong or just not happy with, do it again.
“Do I have to stick to the plan?” it depends on your experience level, if you are a beginner, sticking to the plan is a good idea as you will end up with whatever it is that the plan is for. The more experience you have or gain over time then the more you can use a plan as a guide and customise it to suit your needs.
If you are more experienced a good plan is still worth its weight in gold as it gives you a much higher success rate and it means you can get straight into your next project without spending hours drawing up your own plan.
When sanding, sand with the grain not across it, start with a low number sandpaper like 80 grit for heavy sanding, then progress to finer grades 120, 240 to get a better finish, for areas where light sanding is required start with 110, or 120 then use 240 grit.
Always use a good quality wood glue, there are different types of glue for different applications, generally I use an aliphatic resin wood glue for most projects as it is easier to sand when dry, it is also water based so cleanup is easy.
Use plenty of clamps to hold pieces together when you have glued them.
If you are using screws, drill pilot holes to stop the wood splitting and for a better finish, counter sink the holes. If you don’t want to see the screws, treat yourself to a set of plug cutters, counter sink the screw hole with a suitable drill bit deep enough to take a plug hten once yoy have the scrw in place glue in your wood plug and chisel or sand flush.
Warning About Using Woodworking Tools
I always use ear protectors and goggles when using power tools especially power saws, sanders and routers, I value my hearing and my eyesight. If using a sander I’ll also use a dust mask.
A neighbour of mine injured himself with a power saw many years ago so I am always VERY careful when I use one. I need all of my fingers. No matter what tool you are using if that little voice inside your head tells you “I shouldn’t be doing this” listen, if you don’t consequences can be serious. Whenever you do woodworking projects there is a chance you may cut yourself so keep a first aid kit handy, make sure you have band-aids, fingers often get in the way of a cutting tool.
Woodworking can be safe as long as you are constantly aware of the dangers, the minute you become complacent is when you are likely to injure yourself. Always keep tools sharp, if you don’t know how, John has some advice on sharpening tools, in his collection. Dull tools make woodworking harder and are more likely to slip.
There are correct ways of using tools so learn how, http://youtube.com is a great source, just type in what you want to know e.g. “How do I use a chisel”
90% of accidents with woodworking tools are caused by people doing something they know they shouldn’t be doing or using a tool in a way it shouldn’t be used.
John is offering a 50% discount on his woodworking plans but only if you buy right now, the offer is only valid for a few days so you’d better get in quick. Hop on over and check it our for yourself just click the link below.

P.S. We are adding more information to make our site better for you, so some of the pages on our site may still be under construction. All 14000 plans are available now even if a page on this site is listed as under construction. Please just bear with us until we get the changes finished. I don’t personally own the plans… wish I did, my aim is to provide you with the facts about John’s woodworking plans.
